Fun Facts: Rialto, California
- Rialto was established in 1887 as one of 25 Santa Fe Railroad stations between San Bernardino and Pasadena.
- Rialto’s name, inspired by Venice’s iconic Rialto Bridge, means “crossing place” - fitting for a town that grew at the crossroads of railroads and Route 66.
- For decades, this foothill community was known for its citrus groves, vineyards, and other agriculture. Fruit packing plants and roadside orange juice stands were common there in the 1950s.
