Fun Facts: Bagdad
- The only obvious remnant of the ghost town of Bagdad is one last, lonely tree. This is the true site of Bagdad, where the actual Bagdad Cafe once stood. The film "Bagdad Cafe" made the town world famous, but the real cafe was long gone by then; the production crew used the Sidewinder Cafe in Newberry Springs for production. Enjoy the solitude at the tree, but leave no trace behind.
- For the adventurous and careful visitor who wishes to pay their respects, the Bagdad Cemetery lies north of the railroad tracks.
- On the south side of Route 66 across from the Bagdad townsite, a marker aptly titled 'Hallowed Ground' was installed by the Order of E Clampus Vitus, Billy Holcomb Chapter. It tells the story of the Bagdad Auxiliary Airfield at this site, and the service members who lost their lives in the crash of a training flight during World War II.
